About the Event

Gardner C. Taylor Preaching and Lecture Series

Morehouse School of Religion established the Preaching and Lecture Series to encourage all to continue to proclaim God’s Word as salvation and liberation. The Gardner C. Taylor Preaching and Lecture Series is named in memory of Rev. Dr. Gardner C. Taylor, who advocated for Civil Rights during his lifetime, preached internationally, and was hailed by Newsweek as one of the 12 greatest preachers in the English-speaking world. Rev. Dr. Taylor served as the pastor of Concord Baptist Church (Brooklyn, New York) for 42 years between 1948 and 1990. ITC is the home of the Gardner C. Taylor Archives and Preaching Laboratory, which was funded by Atlanta’s own Vernon Jordan, former President of the National Urban League.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees must register for the lecture series.
